The Weston Democratic Club
Welcome Weston Democrats

President's Message

Thursday, March 01, 2007

Dear Friends,

With all the excitement beginning on the National level, we are not paying the proper attention to the local races.

Here in Weston, we do not have a race of our own, but we do have a race in neighboring Davie that will affect us greatly. As you are all aware, the proposed Davie Commons threatens to bring chaos to our streets. We are looking to the Davie Town Council to vote this project down, however, this did not happen on the first vote.

As it happens, both of the races for Davie Town Council will pit anti Commons Democrats against pro Commons Republicans. If we can help to elect these Democrats, we will be helping our own cause as well as starting the flip from Republican to Democrat in the city of Davie.

The names to remember and help are Phil Busey and Marlon Luis. Please let me know if you can help them in any way and I will pass along your request.

Closer to home, we look forward to seeing our good friend and Mayor Eric Hersh at our next meeting to discuss the issues common to the city of Weston.

I look forward to seeing you at our next meeting.

Fondly,
Ann Zucker
