So many people have come to me with questions about the Property Tax initiative that will be on our January ballot. I answered honestly by saying that "I don't know". I have many questions also.
I went to the Property Appraisers website and used their calculator. I saw what would benefit me and then that part of the initiative was removed. What is really left for us to vote on. Once again, I don't know.
To solve this problem, I've invited proponents from both sides to come to our January meeting to discuss the pros and cons of the Property Tax initiative. I am hoping that by the time I leave the meeting, I will have a clearer picture and know how to vote on the January ballot.
Don't forget also that you can vote very easily by voting absentee. You can apply online for your Absentee Ballot. It takes two minutes and you know you have a paper trail and that your vote counts. I applied for all elections from now until 2010. All you need to do is to check one box. Everyone needs to be sure their vote counts. This is a no hassle way to do it. Here is the website:
