The battle for Davie Commons continues and is joined by an even greater battle. We now are in a market where the value of our homes has receded and our pocketbooks are taking a bad hit.

I have invited Broward County Property Appraiser Lori Parrish to visit with us at our next meeting. We will get a firsthand look at the problems our housing market is facing in the County. I know that this is going to be an interesting meeting and hopefully, answer a lot of questions that we might have. Lori might even have a few surprises for us.

Elsewhere, our President has finished a terrific first few weeks with a lot of transparency and the feeling that we are back working together. The inauguration was a sight not to be believed and our whole country is basking in the aura of President Barack Obama.
